Follett hosted a webinar yesterday walking through the upcoming Destiny 23.5 release, anticipated to go live on February 20th. Some key updates are provided below. The first 12-13 minutes of the webinar are specific to Destiny, the rest of the webinar covers products not utilized in our setup (Discover Engage and Classroom Library Manager). Follett plans to share a 23.5 Readiness Toolkit as to the go-live date approaches, we will share links to those resources once they're made available.

Changes/updates coming with Destiny 23.5 update in February 2026:

New layout for creating reports- all report options will be displayed on one page rather than requiring multiple click throughs
New options for custom reports- reports will include new facet options including sublocation, genre, and language
New search options- ability to search for items by sublocation and language
New mobile-friendly design for Discover pages
Checkouts by homeroom- when checking out by homeroom, when the "reset page" button is hit after a student is checked out, the page will revert back to the homeroom (rather than the main checkout landing page where homeroom would have to be selected again)
In Discover search results item cards will show the item call # and sublocation
Overdue notices will be able to be run by month (rather than just day or week); notices will also include cover pictures
More reports will be available for download as Excel files, rather than just PDF
Ability to print a checkout summary from circulation and patron status pages
